Purify the mind, heal the heart

Is it possible to heal the hurt that we carry in our minds? Can we purify our mind of our own past negative actions? Can we move out of the past and become the person we want to be? Yes, we can and in this special weekend event you will learn practical meditation tools and perspectives to do this.

You will learn tried and tested methods to purify the mind. Through guided meditations, teachings and discussion, Kadam Mark will show us how to integrate these teachings into our daily life.

The Saturday morning workshop will focus on karma and purification in general. On the Sunday morning workshop Kadam Mark will give a commentary to a specific practice Sutra of the Three Superior Heaps. Everyone is welcome to either or both days.

Urban Retreat

Escape the stress and busyness of life and discover the peace of meditation for yourself. On this one-day Urban Retreat on mindfulness, be guided in meditations that enable you to get to know and gain control over your mind, rather than having your mind control you. Learn the techniques to let go of negative, toxic thoughts, instead creating positive thoughts which give rise to happiness. This will enable you to let go of painful, agitated minds and draw out your real potential: to be mindful, focused and peaceful in meditation and in your daily life.

The workshop will include talks and guided meditations in clear, easy-to-understand English. This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with more experience of meditation.

Healing the past, creating the future

We all want to feel in control of the destiny of our own life. Everyone wants to be free from problems & suffering and feel confident that they are creating a happy and fulfilling life. Many of our fears and anxieties come from not feeling we have this control over the destiny of our lives. In this workshop Kadam Mark will explain how understanding and living in accordance with the natural law of karma empowers anyone to change this. We will discover how we can develop and maintain the confidence and peace of mind that comes from feeling in control of the destiny of our life. We will explore how if we can imagine the life we want, we can create it.

The workshop will include practical talks and guided meditations and time for Q&A. It will be taught in clear, easy to understand English and is suitable for complete beginners and those with more experience.

About the meditation retreat
Escape the stress and busyness of life and discover the peace of meditation for yourself. Be guided through simple meditations that relax the mind and body, leading to a deep experience of inner peace and contentment. This retreat is suitable for everyone, and provides an excellent introduction to meditation. Taught by Kadampa Buddhist nun Gen Kelsang Tubchen, experienced retreat leader and inspiring teacher, it offers a unique opportunity to experience stillness within in the tranquil setting of Langebæk retreat centre.

What is a meditation retreat?
A meditation retreat gives us the opportunity to take a break from our busy life and take some time out to gain deeper experience of meditation and its benefits. On retreat you will discover how meditation helps improve our overall levels of inner peace, happiness and well-being. This can give us great encouragement and confidence in our ability to continue to enjoy meditation and its benefits long after the retreat is over.

The retreat program
The weekend starts with an introduction session at 7.30pm on Friday, 2nd November. A light supper will be served at 6pm on Friday 2nd, before the retreat starts. The retreat finishes at 12.30pm on Sunday, 4th November. Following the introduction on Friday, there will be 4 talks and guided meditation sessions on Saturday and 2 talks and guided meditation sessions on Sunday. In each session Gen Tubchen will explain clearly how to engage in the particular meditation and its benefits for our daily life. Then she will guide each meditation, enabling us to gain deep experience of each meditation and its benefits. All talks and meditations will be in clear, easy to understand English. During the breaks you can take a peaceful walk in the beautiful surrounding countryside and quiet nearby forest. Also, you can simply relax or chat with the other people on the retreat, in what is always a warm, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere.
