Foundation program – Tuesdays

Tuesdays, 17:00 to 20:30, with Kadam Mark Decker

The Foundation Program is open to everyone and you can join at any point in the year. It provides an ideal opportunity to deepen understanding and personal experience of the benefits of Buddhism and meditation through in depth study and practise of meditation and mindful living. It takes a more structured approach with the study of a particular book with classes consisting of guided meditations, chanted meditations, teachings and discussion.

Eight Steps to Happiness

The Book

The Foundation Program is currently studying the book “Eight Steps to Happiness” by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso (available in our book store). This book is an in-depth and practical explanation of one of Buddhism’s best-loved teachings, Eight Verses of Training the Mind, by the great Tibetan Bodhisattva, Langri Tangpa. Clear methods are simply presented for transforming all life’s difficulties into valuable spiritual insights, for improving our relationships, and for bringing greater patience, empathy and compassion into our daily life. For centuries, these methods have brought lasting peace, inspiration and serenity to countless people in the East. Now, with this book, Geshe Kelsang shares the immeasurably rich insight of this ancient wisdom to help us find greater happiness and meaning in our busy, modern lives.


In joining the Foundation Program, you will enjoy all the benefits of full Centre member. This entitles you to free access to all events at the Centre. The Foundation Program monthly fee is 500kr per month.
