Clear mind, peaceful heart

Feb, Sat 23rd | 10:00 to 13:15 | with Kadam Mark | KMC Copenhagen

Discover how to connect to the natural peace, clarity and potential of our minds through the practise of a special and highly practical meditation known as ‘The clarity of the mind’ meditation. We will explore how this experience enables us to easily let go of unhealthy states of mind such as anxiety and fear, as well as perceived faults and limiting beliefs that we may hold about ourself. We will also see how this experience enables us to develop confidence in our ability to cultivate our inner potential for good qualities, inner peace and happiness.

Also, we will explore how this experience opens the door to gaining insight into the true nature of things, including ourself. We will realise that we are not as fixed, stuck or limited as we can often feel we are. In truth, we all exist in a state of profound freedom and limitless potential for positive change. Connecting with this sense of freedom and potential, we become confident that we can change and live the truly peaceful, happy and fulfilling life we would want.

A world gone mad

Mar, Sat 8th | 10.00 to 13.15 | with Kadam Mark | KMC Copenhagen

Our modern age is a time of momentous and lightning-fast change. It seems as though a lot of things are going downhill fast, but this rapid change can also open doorways in people’s minds as they struggle to figure out another, better way to be, given that the old certainties are no longer working. What is modern Buddhism if not applying the ideas of Buddhism to the problems of the modern world? In this world we are all interconnected and interdependent like never before, and we ignore this fact at our peril. Far better to take advantage of it to spread the ideas of wisdom and compassion to bring about genuine, lasting improvement.

Through a skillful combination of talks, meditative exercises, and discussion, Kadam Mark will guide us to understand methods for purifying and transforming our minds and actions, and thereby purifying and transforming our actual world, including everyone in it

Love: are we doing it wrong?

Mar, Sat 16th | 10:00 to 13:15 | with Kadam Mark | KMC Copenhagen

Even if we are off the technological grid, we are still connected at every level to others at all times. None of us is an isolated individual, we are all part of the family of living beings. Our thoughts and actions directly or indirectly affect many other people, even when we are not aware of this. And everything we think, say, do or have is dependent upon others, even when we ignore this fact.
When we feel lonely, we feel disconnected from others, isolated, separate. This is actually an illusion that comes from grasping at ourself as independent of others. We feel we are the only real “I” in the universe, whereas everyone else is really “other”, and less than I. Self depends upon other, just as left depends upon right or up depends upon down. Therefore, I am not independent or separate. Nor are you. I am self, but so are you. You are other, but so am I.

There is a series of meditations taught in Kadampa Buddhism, called or training the mind, that enable us to feel the truth of our equality and connection to others at deeper and deeper levels. This series of meditations leads to a increasingly profound and satisfying sense of closeness, affection, empathy, and non-dual wisdom.

Understanding the mind

Mar, Sat 23rd | 10:00 to 13:15 | with Kadam Mark | KMC Copenhagen

Your mind is hands down the most amazing thing in your life. The fact that someone can say or write words to you and you can understand them is incredible. The fact that we can see each other. The fact that this whole world is appearing. The fact that within our mind we have the capacity for peace, joy, transcendence, love etc, and that the deeper we go the better it gets. Plus our mind is naturally peaceful — indeed naturally blissful.

Can you even think of an object that is not known by mind? There is no world outside of our experience of the world. Your whole world cannot be separated out from your experience of the world – you cannot point to any world outside of your experience of it. As soon as you do, you’re experiencing it.
