The key to happiness

Everyone wants to experience a deep and long lasting feeling of happiness and fulfillment in their lives. We want to be happy and free from problems all the time. If we check, we devote all our time and energy to this pursuit. Maybe we have worked hard and have a life that looks good on the outside, with a good job, home etc. Yet, still we can feel something is missing, and that we haven’t yet found the lasting happiness and fulfillment on the inside that we seek.

In this talk, Kadam Mark will explore how everyone can learn to meditate, and discover for themselves, that it is entirely possible to fulfill these wishes. We will realize that training in meditation enables us to create a life that not only looks good on the outside, but one that feels genuinely and consistently good on the inside. We can cultivate a new found sense of inner freedom and happiness to bring to all areas of our life, from the “inside-out”. The event will be in clear easy to understand English. It include a talk on this topic and a deeply relaxing guided meditation. Everyone is welcome.

Nøglen til lykke

Onsdag 5. september | 19:00 til 20:00 | med Sophie og Stig | KMC CPH

Alle ønsker at opleve en dyb og langvarig følelse af lykke og tilfredshed i deres liv. Vi ønsker at være glade og fri for problemer hele tiden. Hvis vi ser efter, så bruger vi al vores tid og energi for at opnå dette. Måske har vi arbejdet hårdt og opbygget et liv, der ser godt ud udefra, med et godt job, hjem osv. Måske mærker vi stadigvæk at noget mangler, og at vi endnu ikke har fundet den vedvarende lykke og indre ro, som vi søger.

I denne time vil Sophie og Stig forklare, hvordan alle kan lære at meditere og opdage for sig selv, at det er helt muligt at opfylde disse ønsker. I denne time vil vi indse, at træning i meditation kan gøre det muligt for os at skabe et liv, som ikke kun ser godt ud udefra, men som også føles virkelig godt på indersiden. Vi vil lære, at kultivere en ny fundet følelse af indre frihed og lykke, som vi kan tage med os i alle områder af vores liv, “indefra ud”. Arrangementet er på dansk. Undervisningen indeholder nøglen til vedvarende lykke og indre fred samt dybt afslappende guidede meditationer.

The art of meditation

Meditation is a way of calming the mind and developing a positive approach to life. It is easy to do, and something everyone can learn. Through meditation and mindfulness, we can control our feelings and emotions, gain inner strength, let go of stress and start to truly relax.

On this day course learn how to meditate and discover for yourself the inner peace and happiness that naturally arises when your mind becomes still. This is a great course both for beginners and those who wish to improve their meditation and mindfulness skills. You will learn the step-by-step methods to establishing a regular and highly effective meditation practice and everything you need to know to easily integrate meditation into your normal daily schedule. Our Dharma Celebrations and Festivals provide a wonderful opportunity for people from throughout the Nordic Region to come together and develop inner peace through the practices of meditation and modern Buddhism. The topic this year is “Life with Wisdom”.

About the teacher

Our annual Nordic Dharma Celebration will take place 21-23 September at Kadampa Meditation Centre Copenhagen with the Nordic Spiritual Director, Gen Kelsang Tubchen.

Gen Tubchen ordained as a Buddhist nun in 2003 and she is a gifted and inspiring teacher with a wealth of experience teaching modern Buddhism and guiding retreat.

The meditations will be led by our local Resident Teacher, Kadam Mark Decker.

Purify the mind, heal the heart

Is it possible to heal the hurt that we carry in our minds? Can we purify our mind of our own past negative actions? Can we move out of the past and become the person we want to be? Yes, we can and in this special weekend event you will learn practical meditation tools and perspectives to do this.

You will learn tried and tested methods to purify the mind. Through guided meditations, teachings and discussion, Kadam Mark will show us how to integrate these teachings into our daily life.

The Saturday morning workshop will focus on karma and purification in general. On the Sunday morning workshop Kadam Mark will give a commentary to a specific practice Sutra of the Three Superior Heaps. Everyone is welcome to either or both days.

Healing the past, creating the future

We all want to feel in control of the destiny of our own life. Everyone wants to be free from problems & suffering and feel confident that they are creating a happy and fulfilling life. Many of our fears and anxieties come from not feeling we have this control over the destiny of our lives. In this workshop Kadam Mark will explain how understanding and living in accordance with the natural law of karma empowers anyone to change this. We will discover how we can develop and maintain the confidence and peace of mind that comes from feeling in control of the destiny of our life. We will explore how if we can imagine the life we want, we can create it.

About the meditation retreat

This retreat is suitable for everyone, and provides an excellent introduction to meditation. Taught by Kadampa Buddhist nun Gen Kelsang Tubchen, experienced retreat leader and inspiring teacher, it offers a unique opportunity to experience stillness within in the tranquil setting of Langebæk retreat centre.

What is a meditation retreat?
A meditation retreat gives us the opportunity to take a break from our busy life and take some time out to gain deeper experience of meditation and its benefits. On retreat you will discover how meditation helps improve our overall levels of inner peace, happiness and well-being. This can give us great encouragement and confidence in our ability to continue to enjoy meditation and its benefits long after the retreat is over.

The retreat program
The weekend starts with an introduction session at 7.30pm on Friday, 2nd November. A light supper will be served at 6pm on Friday 2nd, before the retreat starts. The retreat finishes at 12.30pm on Sunday, 4th November. Following the introduction on Friday, there will be 4 talks and guided meditation sessions on Saturday and 2 talks and guided meditation sessions on Sunday. In each session Gen Tubchen will explain clearly how to engage in the particular meditation and its benefits for our daily life. Then she will guide each meditation, enabling us to gain deep experience of each meditation and its benefits. All talks and meditations will be in clear, easy to understand English. During the breaks you can take a peaceful walk in the beautiful surrounding countryside and quiet nearby forest. Also, you can simply relax or chat with the other people on the retreat, in what is always a warm, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere.

Discover the healing power of meditation on love and compassion to help us solve our problems, improve our relationships and find deep and lasting inner peace and genuine happiness.

Love is not just something we find, it’s a natural quality of our own minds. In this workshop we will discover – through our own experience – how we can all learn to connect with these natural qualities of love and compassion, cultivate them and strengthen them. Through this experience we will realize how they naturally improve our inner peace, happiness, well being and relationships with others.
