Modern Buddhism: What do our life and death mean? (ONLINE EVENT)

Wednesday, Apr 1 – 18.30 to 20.30
with Kadam Tim – Online class

About this class

From the book “Modern Buddhism” by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, we are looking at the meaning of our life and death from the perspective of Buddha’s teachings. What is the real meaning of human life and how do you discover it? What actually happens at death and should I be concerned about it?

We are introducing the initial meditations on “Lamrim” – the stages of the path to enlightenment. The first meditation is called “Our Precious Human Life”, and the second “Death and impermanence”. Both provide deep wisdom for a meaningful and happy life.

Everyone is welcome to join these classes, which are based on the book “Modern Buddhism” by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. You can download the entire book for free from

The class will be a combination of guided meditations, teaching and opportunities to ask questions – as in our normal classes at the Centre. Everyone is welcome 😊

About online live-streamed events

At this challenging time, when the meditation centre needs to be closed, we are continuing our classes using a video-conferencing called Zoom.

You can participate in this from a computer, phone or tablet with an internet connection.

After booking your place below,  we will send you a link via email before the class starts. Just click on that link to join the event.

About Zoom

Zoom is easiest to use from a computer with one of the usual browsers. You can just click on the meeting link that you will be sent and it should work fine.

You can also use it from a mobile phone or tablet by downloading the “Zoom Cloud Meetings” app from the Apple or Google Play stores. If you do this you will need to make an account. We suggest that you download the app and familiarise yourself a little with Zoom in advance so that you can join easily when you start the class.  If you have any questions about how to get started, please contact us at and we will try to help you.

About Booking

Everyone who attends the class needs to book so we can send you an email with the link to the class. The prices are the same as our physical events – 80kr per class. Registration closes 30 minutes before the start of the event.

If you already possess a “Clip Card”, then you can use that, but please remember to mark the card yourself. At the moment we cannot sell additional “Clip Cards”. If you are a Centre Supporter, the class is free, but you still need to book a place.

These classes are open to everyone living in Denmark. If you live outside Denmark, please contact your nearest Kadampa Meditation Centre here.
