Chanted prayers to Buddha Tara (24 hour ONLINE EVENT)
Wednesday, Apr 8 – 03.00, 07.00, 11.00, 15.00, 19.00, 23.00
from Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre, UK
Tara is a female Buddha, a manifestation of the ultimate wisdom of all the Buddhas. Her name means “Rescuer” because she rescues us from all outer and inner fears. Ultimately she rescues us from all suffering and guides us to full enlightenment. Like a mother she protects us from all internal and external dangers; she provides us with all the necessary conditions for our spiritual training, and guides us and inspires us with her blessings as we progress along the spiritual path.
The 8th day of the month is Tara Day. On these days, you can join in a special 24 hour chanted meditation in streamed sessions at 03,00, 07.00, 11.00, 15.00, 19.00 and 23.00 (Danish time) together with others from around the world. Join as many sessions as you wish. It is free to participate.
Just follow this link at the time of the event, and it will take you to a webpage that is streaming the event. Further information about the practice is also available on this webpage, including how to download the prayers.
Modern Buddhism: Finding inner protection (ONLINE EVENT)
Wednesday, Apr 8 – 18.30 to 20.30
with Kadam Tim – Online class
About this class
This month we are continuing to look at initial meditations on “Lamrim” – the stages of the path to enlightenment. In these classes, the focus is about how to find permanent protection from all kinds of suffering, and build the basis for lasting happiness through the practice of refuge in the 3 jewels – Buddha, Dharma and Sangha.
Everyone is welcome to join these classes, which are based on the book “Modern Buddhism” by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. You can download the entire book for free from emodernbuddhism.com
The class will be a combination of guided meditations, teaching and opportunities to ask questions – as in our normal classes at the Centre. Everyone is welcome 😊
About online live-streamed events
At this challenging time, when the meditation centre needs to be closed, we are continuing our classes using a video-conferencing service called Zoom. You can participate in this from a computer, phone or tablet with an internet connection.
After booking your place below, we will send you a link via email before the class starts. Just click on that link to join the event. If you have any questions about how to get started, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will try to help you.
These classes are open to everyone living in Denmark. If you live outside Denmark, please contact your nearest Kadampa Meditation Centre here.
