Description of this workshop
The 1985 film “Back to the future” presents a complicated, nuclear-powered machine, in the form of a DeLorean car, that enables its owners to travel through time.
Nearly 40 years later, it seems that our problem is less about travelling to the future, but remaining in the present! Our mind tends to worry about the future, and ruminate on the past. Even though we don’t want this, at the moment our uncontrolled mind gives us no choice.
Do we need complicated technology to bring us “Back to the present” – the place we want to be? Absolutely not! We just need to know how to train our mind through meditation and we can learn from Buddha’s teachings practical methods to do this.
In this workshop we will learn meditations that support our wish to be in the moment, and thereby the ability to extract the full value from our precious human life.
About this workshop
Everyone is welcome to join our Saturday morning workshops. No previous experience of meditation is needed, nor is any special clothing required. Most people sit on chairs, though meditation cushions are provided for those that wish to use them.
The workshops are presented in easy-to-understand English and are attended by people with a great variety of backgrounds and cultures. As the workshop takes place in a buddhist meditation centre, it will start with a short buddhist prayer.
Each workshop consists of two teaching sessions with meditations, and a light brunch is served between them.
