Be happy,anyway (online)
Mondays: Jan 4,11,18,25 – 18.30 to 20.15
with Kadam Tim
Despite all the challenges of 2020, there are still very good reasons to be optimistic about the future. Why? Because through training minds in meditation, and through developing our wisdom and compassion we can discover three important things about ourself. 1) We have a true source of happiness within our own mind. 2) We have unlimited potential to develop our mind to its fullest extent. 3) We are in no way as stuck or fixed as we may think we are.
Through meditation training in these classes, solid reasoning from Buddha and our own direct experience, we will come to know that we are not actually victims of external circumstances and that whatever is happing in our world, we can learn to be happy anyway.
About these online classes
Due to the ongoing health risk situation, there are no in-person classes at the moment. Instead, we will live-stream the classes from the Centre.
To attend a class, please book a ticket below before 18.00 on the day of the class. We will send you a link to the class at the latest 30 minutes before the class starts. We use the Zoom service for our classes.
The classes include teachings, discussion and guided meditations. No previous experience of meditation is needed. Everyone is welcome, buddhist and non-buddhist alike and anyone can benefit from these teachings regardless of nationality, culture, background, gender or age.
Lineage of these instructions
The meditation practices we teach come from an unbroken lineage of instructions that go back to the teachings of Buddha, over 2500 years ago. They are timeless instructions that are very relevant for developing and maintaining a peaceful mind in today’s world.
Teachings for these classes will be drawn from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche’s books “How to Transform Your Life” and “How to Solve our Human Problems”. Hard copies of both books can be purchased at the Centre. A digital version of the latter is available here available here, and a digital version the former can be download for free here.
