Buddhist Philosophy - Kadampa Meditation Centre CPH

What is Buddhism?

Buddhism is the practice of Buddha’s teachings, also called Dharma, which means ‘protection’. By learning and practicing the methods explained by Buddha, which are available to everybody, not just Buddhists, we can protect our mind from suffering and experience the happiness that comes from mental peace. Buddha gave 84000 teachings, and from these teachings Buddhism developed in this world. Today we can see many different forms of Buddhism, such as Zen or Theravada Buddhism. All these different aspects are practices of Buddha’s teachings and are all equally precious; they are just different presentations. At our Centre we study and practice Kadampa Buddhism, which you can read about in the ‘About’ section of this website.
