Happy you, happy me - Kadampa Meditation Centre CPH
Workshop
Happy you, happy me
26 Aug kl 10:00 - 13:30

“We should know that learning to cherish others is the best solution to our daily problems, and is the source of all our future happiness and good fortune” – Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche

All of the major spiritual traditions have love and compassion at their heart and explain how through focusing on others’ happiness, we become happy ourselves. Although it may seem paradoxical, this actually works in practice.

But the question is how do we do this and why does it work? And how do we take care of our own needs at the same time as cherishing others? It’s not always easy, but if cherishing others is the source of happiness, why isn’t it always easy for us? What is the barrier and how do we remove it?

These questions can be understood and addressed through understanding our own mind, and how we can train, develop and use it so becomes a source of happiness for ourself and others.

When we genuinely focus on the happiness of others to the best of our ability, we become happier ourself. Strange, but true! In this workshop we will explore why this is, and how we can do this in our everyday life. The methods and meditations around this topic are very practical, and can be put into practice immediately by anyone.

About this workshop

Everyone is welcome to join our Saturday morning workshops. No previous experience of meditation is needed, nor is any special clothing required. Most people sit on chairs, though meditation cushions are provided for those that wish to use them.

The workshops are presented in easy-to-understand English and are attended by people with a great variety of backgrounds and cultures. As the workshop takes place in a buddhist meditation centre, it will start with a short buddhist prayer.

Each workshop consists of two teaching sessions with meditations, and a light brunch is served between them.
