Freedom and joy at Christmas - Kadampa Meditation Centre CPH
Workshop
Freedom and joy at Christmas
16 Dec kl 10:00 - 13:30

What would you like to receive for Christmas? What would you like to give for Christmas?

If we check, everybody wants the same thing – freedom from suffering and a happiness that lasts. The freedom and joy that we and others wish for are like gifts. Although they cannot be placed and found under a tree, everyone has the potential to find them within their heart.

These qualities of freedom and joy are definitely to be found in our heart, but can be hidden by the obstructions in our mind – principally the delusions of self-grasping and self-cherishing. Christmas is a perfect time to train in defeating these two “trouble-makers, because the often show themselves clearly around this time.

Can we really give freedom and joy to our self and others? At this special holiday workshop, we will investigate practical ways of how to do this. Freeing our self from these delusions will allow our good heart to shine. If we train in this at this time, it’s possible that we and our loved ones can have the best Christmas ever!

About this workshop

Everyone is welcome to join our Saturday morning workshops. No previous experience of meditation is needed, nor is any special clothing required. Most people sit on chairs, though meditation cushions are provided for those that wish to use them.

The workshops are presented in easy-to-understand English and are attended by people with a great variety of backgrounds and cultures. As the workshop takes place in a buddhist meditation centre, it will start with a short buddhist prayer.

Each workshop consists of two teaching sessions with meditations, and a light brunch is served between them.
