Cultivating Compassion: Journey into Altruism with Arya Tara
16 Mar kl 10:00 - 14:30

Explore the power of active compassion and altruism with our upcoming workshop, “Cultivating Compassion: Journey into Altruism with Arya Tara.”

Compassion is the essence of our Buddha nature—a transformative force that wishes others to be free from suffering and problems. But it does not make us angry or depressed. Instead, pure compassion holds tremendous energy and removes our complacency, we feel deeply motivated to make a better world.

“If we genuinely want to realize our full potential by attaining full enlightenment, we need to increase the scope of our compassion until it embraces all living beings without exception, just as a loving mother feels compassion for all her children irrespective of whether they are behaving badly.” – from “New Eight Steps to Happiness” by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

Arya Tara, a female Buddha with great strength, is known as ‘Great Compassionate Mother’ and ‘Great Liberator’, who pacifies suffering and fosters well-being for all her children.

It is said that Arya Tara was born from the compassionate tears of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion. Her green-coloured body symbolises the fully purified wind element, quick to respond to the prayers of those in need. Her extended right leg indicates readiness to help others, echoing the swift and compassionate nature of Arya Tara.

Through insightful teachings and guided meditations, we will explore how cultivating compassion and relying on Arya Tara can profoundly impact our lives. By embracing the path of altruism with Arya Tara, we can contribute to a more harmonious world.

This workshop is inclusive and accessible to all, regardless of your familiarity with Buddhist philosophy. Join us on this empowering journey with Arya Tara, and let her wisdom guide you in cultivating compassion and overcoming obstacles.

Start your path to a more compassionate and purposeful life – join us on March 16th!

About this workshop

Everyone is welcome to join our workshops. No previous experience of meditation is needed, nor is any special clothing required. Most people sit on chairs, though meditation cushions are provided for those that wish to use them.

The workshops are presented in easy-to-understand English and are attended by people with a great variety of backgrounds and cultures.

As the workshop takes place in a buddhist meditation centre, it will start with a short buddhist prayer. Each workshop consists of two teaching sessions with meditations, and vegan and gluten free lunch is served between them.
