Did you know that there are now modern Buddhist monks, from western countries, living and teaching in urban cities? Gen Kelsang Dragpa is such a monk.

At this special event “Introduction to meditation”, Gen Dragpa will explain and teach the principles and purposes of Buddhist meditation, how to meditate and why meditation is relevant and beneficial for everybody. There will also be an opportunity to practice meditation together and ask questions.

Everyone is welcome to attend this special event. Space is limited, so please book your ticket in advance to avoid any disappointment.

About the teacher

Gen Kelsang Dragpa is a modern Buddhist monk and both Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre Oslo and National Spiritual Director for the Nordic region. With over 30 years of experience as a monk, he has taught extensively in various centres across Europe, offering profound insights into applying Buddha’s wisdom to everyday life. His teachings are known for their practicality and accessibility.

Gen Dragpa last taught in Copenhagen at the Nordic Dharma Celebration in November 2022, and we eagerly anticipate welcoming him again in April 2024

About the teacher

Gen Kelsang Dragpa is a modern buddhist monk, the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre Oslo and the National Spiritual Director for the Nordic region. He was ordained in 1993 and has taught for many years in different centres in Europe. His teachings are very practical and easy to understand.
