"I myself can make myself happy" - Kadampa Meditation Centre CPH
Workshop
“I myself can make myself happy”
22 Jan kl 10:00 - 13:15

Description of this workshop

As we get started with a new year, many think about change – how to improve ourself and increase our happiness.

However, often our efforts to change for the better don’t work. This is because we rely too much on willpower, and not enough on wisdom.

In this workshop we will explore where happiness actually comes from, how to change our mind using methods that actually work and understand, through our own experience, how we can create happiness that lasts. Thus we will have a valid basis for optimism in the new year.

The method is to develop our wisdom and take it to heart in meditation. Even though, we will continue to experience difficulties, through meditating on wisdom we come to understand, deep in our heart how “ I myself can make myself happy”.

About this workshop

Everyone is welcome to join our Saturday morning workshops. No previous experience of meditation is needed, nor is any special clothing required. Most people sit on chairs, though meditation cushions are provided for those that wish to use them.

The workshops are presented in easy-to-understand English and are attended by people with a great variety of backgrounds and cultures. As the workshop takes place in a buddhist meditation centre, it will start with a short buddhist prayer.

Each workshop consists of two teaching sessions with meditations, and a light brunch is served between them. As we arrange brunch for workshops and space is limited to 20 people, it would be helpful to book in advance. However, it is still possible to “drop-in” if you decide to attend last minute.

COVID-19 safety

In accordance with the latest guidelines that have been introduced by the authorities, and to keep the Centre open and a safe place to come, we kindly ask everyone to show a Corona Pass and to wear a mask when moving around the Centre. If you don’t have a mask when you come, we can provide one.
