The Joyful Path of Good Fortune
18 Aug kl 18:00 - 20:00

Foundation Program is one of the 3 study programs that are offered by Kadampa Centres around the world. It is an on-going, structured program, with a consistent group of people, who week by week study a particular Buddhist text and commentary, building up their knowledge of Buddhism and how to apply it in daily life. At the moment we are studying the book “Joyful Path of Good Fortune” by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso (see below).

Anyone with a strong interest in using Buddhist approach to personal transformation is welcome to enrol on the Foundation Program. There are regular opportunities to join the Study Group throughout the year.

About the Foundation Program Study Group

Due to the ongoing health risk situation, there are no in-person classes at the moment. Instead, we will live-stream the classes from the Centre. As soon as it is safe, it will be possible to join the Study Group either in-person at the Centre, or online.

It is also possible to join the Foundation Program “by correspondence” which means that you will receive recordings on the classes if you cannot attend “live” on Wednesdays.

Unlike our other classes, the Foundation Program is not a “drop-in” class. There is an enrolment process. Everyone is welcome, buddhist and non-buddhist alike and anyone can benefit from these teachings regardless of nationality, culture, background, gender or age.

About the book “Joyful Path of Good Fortune”

The book we are studying is “Joyful Path of Good Fortune” by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

This inspiring book provides a comprehensive, step-by-step approach to understanding and practicing the Buddhist path to enlightenment. It is the condensation of all Buddha’s teachings into one volume.

Through studying this book, we learn how to practice Buddha’s teachings in everyday life – to practically improve our mind, our wisdom and compassion. We can learn how to be happy now, create the causes for future happiness and how we can attain liberation and enlightenment ourself.

The book presents what is known as “Lamrim” – the stages of the path to enlightenment. Through understanding Lamrim we can know where we are on our spiritual journey, and build a storehouse of Buddha’s wisdom in our mind so we always know what we need to practise in any given situation.
