Healing ourself and helping others with compassion - Kadampa Meditation Centre CPH
Monday meditation
Healing ourself and helping others with compassion
20 Mar kl 18:00 - 19:30

Class description

Buddha taught compassion as powerful mind to heal both ourself and others.

However, the understanding of compassion explained by Buddha, may not be the same as our everyday understanding of the word.  Buddhist compassion purifies the mind and energises us to benefit others.   It does not make us depressed in any way.

This is because from Buddha’s teachings we can understand that suffering has causes, and because these causes can be removed, suffering can cease.

In these classes, you will increase your understanding of compassion and the meditations we will learn will develop your abilities to act with compassion.   You will learn new perspectives on compassion and why true compassion is a joyful and peaceful mind.

(The topic of this class is related to the Nordic National Festival weekend coming up from March 17-19 in Stockholm “The Buddhist Way of Loving Kindness”)

About the classes

We will explore theses topics in this series of Monday classes during March. Each class can be attended individually or as part or the series and consists of an explanation of meditation,  two guided meditations, a teaching, some discussion and an opportunity to ask questions.

As these teachings originate from Buddha, there will be short prayer in English during the class.   However, you do not need to be a Buddhist or have any particular belief or faith to join the class and participate.   Buddha taught for everyone.

Most people sit on chairs, though some meditation cushions are available.   No previous experience is needed and you can “drop-in” to any class on Mondays.  Tea is served from 17.45 and everyone is welcome 🙂
